RJC held its very first Open Day in Birmingham

26 may 2017
Last week, the RJC held its very first Open Day in Birmingham, UK. The newly built Birmingham Assay Office located in the area’s famous Jewellery Quarter, played host to the event where attendees gathered to hear more about the commercial relevance and necessity of RJC membership and certification in today’s jewellery industry.
Attendees heard from a panel of industry experts that consisted of David Lewis, Managing Director of Maker Mends (RJC member since 2011); Himesh Pala, Managing Director of Pala Diamond Company Ltd (RJC member since 2011) and Gary Wroe, Managing Director of Hockley Mint Ltd (RJC member since 2013), who spoke candidly about their experience with the RJC, the preconceptions they had before joining the membership, their motivations for pursuing certification against the odds and their views on the value of the certification to their businesses and the industry as a whole.
The panel discussion was followed by a networking opportunity where attendees were able to engage with existing RJC members to hear more about the benefits of RJC membership for their businesses. The Open Day was a great relationship building opportunity for members and non-members alike and provided the perfect platform for ‘myth busting’ any misconceptions about RJC membership and certification.
