Gitanjali loses De Beers sightholdership

16 april 2018

The PNB fraud by Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi has now resulted in the Gitanjali company losing its De Beers Sightholdership, according to a TOI report.
TOI quoted De Beers Group spokesperson David Johnson as saying, “Gitanjali is no longer a Sightholder of De Beers. We have removed Gitanjali’s name from our customer directory on global sightholder sale (GSS).”
According to an earlier TOI report in February 2018, De Beers Group had clarified that it would not do business with firms not complying with financial propriety and industry reputation issues.
