ALROSA CEO Sergey Ivanov visits Zimbabwe

25 april 2018
ALROSA’s delegation headed by CEO Sergey Ivanov payed a working visit to Zimbabwe. ALROSA's CEO met with Zimbabwe’s President Emmerson Mnangagwa on a matter of possible investments in exploration and mining programs in Zimbabwe.
“ALROSA used to explore in Zimbabwe. We are attentively following all the changes in economic and political events in the country and we have precise overview of the situation in its diamond sector. The meeting with the president was very fruitful. We are not ruling out of the possibility of participating in some joint exploration and mining programs on the territory of Zimbabwe, we see great potential in these programs, although it is too early to comment on any possible agreement”, said Sergey Ivanov following the meeting with Emmerson Mnangagwa.
ALROSA’s CEO also held meetings with the country’s Minister of Mines and Zimbabwe Consolidated Diamond Company (ZCDC).
“We didn’t discuss any targets for exploration and mining programs. However, I am sure that ALROSA’s experience and assessment may be useful and relevant to our Zimbabwean colleagues in different areas”, noted Sergey Ivanov.
