Dubai-based Stargems Group revealed a 103.49-carat polished diamond at the just-ended Dubai Diamond Conference.
The D-Flawless, Type II-A diamond was cut from a 299.3-carat rough stone, acquired by the group last year from Petra Diamonds.
The diamond was recovered at the Cullinan mine in South Africa, which has a rich history of producing the world’s largest and highest quality stones, including Type II stones.
“Acquiring the rough stone from Petra Diamonds last year was a significant achievement for us and it is an honour to unveil the polished diamond here at the Dubai Diamond Conference,” said Stargems chairperson Shailesh Javeri.
“It gives us enormous pride that the polished diamond was cut and polished in its birthplace of South Africa.”
