Norilsk Nickel to build four residential houses in Norilsk in 2024

13 may 2024

Norilsk Nickel plans to complete the construction of four residential buildings in Norilsk in 2024, said Sergey Tkachenko, Deputy Director of the Polar branch of the company for asset development.

"In 2024 we plan to complete the construction of four more residential buildings, two of them are being built on 50 Let Oktyabrya Street. (...) In early 2025, it is planned to complete the design of the Ice Palace and the student complex, the Museum of Modern Art and rental housing, which is necessary for employees invited to work at the Norilsk division," he said.

In total, the Norilsk construction and renovation program includes up to 185 procedures and almost 260 construction projects. In February 2021, the president of Norilsk Nickel Vladimir Potanin allocated 150 billion rubles for these purposes, in addition to the previously allocated 81.3 billion.

When designing the program for the construction of facilities necessary for the city and renovation works by Norilsk Nickel, the opinion of Norilsk residents was taken into account. More than 4,000 residents of Norilsk participated in the survey conducted by the company in 2018.

After completion of the work at the end of 2027, Norilsk Nickel will consider further steps for the design and construction of second-stage facilities in Norilsk, Tkachenko said.
