Dubai-based leading colored gemstone miner FURA Gems has announced that it will auction rough Colombian emeralds in late November.
The company promises to auction as many carats as possible.
The auction will take place first in Bogota, Colombia, from November 11-13, and then in Bangkok, Thailand, from November 21-25. In total, Fura is offering 132,000 carats of high-quality emeralds.
The emeralds are mined at Fura’s Coscuez mine in Muzo, Colombia. The company explained that it is implementing advanced exploration and mining methods at the sites of origin to improve the quality and production of emeralds.
“These emeralds embody the heritage and quality that make Colombian emeralds so sought after around the world,” said Fura Marketing Director Rupak Sen. “Our auctions provide rare access to the finest gems from Coscues.”
Fura will hold a Mozambique ruby sale from December 10 to 24, and an Australian sapphire auction from January 21 to 24.
