London Diamond Bourse Partners with De Beers to Highlight Diamond Excellence

06 january 2025

The London Diamond Bourse (LDB) recently joined forces with De Beers Group to host an exclusive event in London, shining a spotlight on De Beers diamonds and their journey from ethical sourcing to consumer experiences.

The event brought together over 150 major figures, including representatives from London’s leading brands, UK retailers, buying groups, and members of the Hatton Garden diamond and jewellery community.

Attendees heard about insights into De Beers’ role in the diamond supply chain and its commitment to sustainability and innovation.

A central feature of the event was De Beers’ Spotlight on Diamonds initiative, a comprehensive series of presentations and reports designed to showcase the beauty and value of diamonds, highlight industry trends and innovations, and to provide insights into the diamond market’s evolution.

The program underscored the enduring significance of diamonds while presenting a forward-looking perspective on the industry’s future.

LDB President David Troostwyk opened the event, welcoming key speakers from De Beers’ executive team alongside distinguished delegates from the Embassies of Angola, Botswana, Sierra Leone, and South Africa.

The managing director of the Boston Consulting Group also shared valuable insights, further enriching the program, the LDB reported.

The LDB and De Beers Group said the collaboration between the two bodies demonstrated a shared commitment to upholding the diamond industry’s legacy while advancing its future through ethical practices and innovation.

“We are thrilled with the success of this event,” said Troostwyk. “Our partnership with De Beers Group provided a unique opportunity to celebrate the heritage and impact of natural diamonds. We look forward to future collaborations that continue to promote diamonds as symbols of value and positive global impact.”

The London Diamond Bourse aims to enhance the UK’s standing in the global diamond market, nurturing collaboration with domestic and international partners, and championing the ethical and innovative practices that define the modern diamond industry.
