Endiama to open a new diamond cutting factory

04 february 2025

Angolan state-owned diamond company, Endiama is set to open a new diamond cutting and polishing factory in the first half of 2025.

The company said in a paper gleaned by Rough & Polished at the Mining Indaba in Cape Town that the factory will have an installed capacity of processing 96 000 carats annually.

Endiama said it had invested $5.5 million into the project.

Angola currently operates nine diamond-cutting factories with an annual installed capacity of about 770,000 carats.

The country opened a diamond development hub in Saurimo in 2021 where most cutting and polishing is taking place.

Angola reserves 20% of all diamonds produced in the country for cutting and polishing factories.
