TAGS opens tender centre in South Africa

Dubai-based auction house Trans Atlantic Gem Sales (TAGS) has announced that it is expanding its operations with the opening of a new, fully equipped tender centre in Johannesburg, South Africa.

According to a press release from the auction house, “the secure facility will provide a state-of-the-art environment with 13 fully f operational viewing rooms and a sorting facility, catering to local producers and suppliers looking to benefit from TAGS’s internationally renowned services and reputation.”

Local producers will be able to bid with “full transparency” through a modern, efficient and secure platform built on innovation and optimisation, and will also be able to “benefit from comprehensive data reporting and access to TAGS’s highly competitive global client base.”

The company has been operating in Dubai for eight years and in Angola for two years, where TAGS was selected among the world’s leading tender houses to oversee tenders on behalf of SODIAM and the Angolan government, gaining global recognition as an industry-leading rough diamond tendering house.

“Our mission is to empower the South African diamond industry with a valuable alternative sales channel that enhances supplier revenues and supports growth in the local sector,” the company said in a press release. “We firmly believe that opening this operation in South Africa is a natural progression for TAGS and represents a significant value proposition for local producers and suppliers.”
