Delegation of ALROSA held a meeting with the authorities of the Magadan Region in Russia. The parties agreed to create a joint working group to develop the Degdekan gold deposit.
Anabar Diamonds, a subsidiary of ALROSA, is operating the project which is located in the Tenkinsky District of the Magadan Region.
The first agreement between the parties was signed in September 2024 at the Eastern Economic Forum. The project is expected to create 1,000 new jobs. The prospects for expanding the resource potential of the deposit were also considered.
In mid-2024, PJSC Polyus, the previous owner of the deposit, sold it to ALROSA for 5.44 billion rubles. The project's gold reserves are estimated at 38.3 tons in the C1+C2 category with an average grade of 2.2 g/t.
