Oriole Resources is steaming ahead with the maiden drilling programme over a target at its 90%-owned Mbe gold project, in Cameroon.
The drilling is more than 30% complete with about 2 200 m drilled in the first seven holes.
The drilling programme seeks to follow up on the previous soil, rock chip and trench sampling work.
It said results from the second scissor hole have delivered more than 30 gold mineralisation intersections, with one hole intersecting more than 60 m of recurrent gold mineralisation.
Oriole said that the MBDD003 hole has reported gold mineralisation throughout the hole, with an average grade of 0.48 g/t over the first 150 m.
It said the longest and highest grade intervals were intersected at a shallower depth than expected, mostly being within 115 m vertical depth from the surface.
“Not only has hole MDBB003 intersected wide zones of lower grade gold, but it has also intersected the highest grade interval of 4.24 m grading 7.70 g/t gold,” said Oriole chief executive Martin Rosser.
“The high number of intersections received to date in the maiden programme is truly exciting.”
Oriole said the north-northwest trending structures are delivering narrower but higher grade gold intervals, reflecting the soil sampling geochemistry around this fence line.
