Lodestar gets new exploration permits near its Chilean project

12 march 2025

Lodestar Minerals Limited has acquired additional 3,200ha of exploration licences in Chile adjacent to its highly prospective iron-oxide-copper-gold Darwin project.

The company plans to begin 2,000m of reverse circulation drilling immediately and expects to get first assay results in April.

Darwin project is located 75 km from Copiapó in a region which hosts several significant copper and gold deposits, including the Candelaria, Carola and Atacama Kozan. The company collected a number of high-grade gold, copper and iron samples from historical workings.

“We are sufficiently impressed with the prospectivity of the larger Darwin Project area due to the multiple magnetic anomalies and evidence of mineralisation to the south of our existing Darwin tenements, that we have been compelled to apply for this additional ground prior to commencing our inaugural drilling programme at Darwin,” said Lodestar Managing Director Ed Turner.

“The larger landholdings increase our chance of success, and we look forward to exploring this expanded area as well as commencing our reverse circulation drilling of the Darwin Project targets in the coming weeks.”
