Global investment giant BlackRock has expanded its position in Valterra Platinum, raising its ownership to 6.35% of the company's total issued shares.
The move comes just weeks after Valterra's dual listing on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) on May 28 and subsequent admission to trading on the London Stock Exchange (LSE) on June 2.
Valterra, formerly Anglo American Platinum, was spun off as Anglo American refocuses its portfolio on copper, premium iron ore, and crop nutrients.
While Anglo American retains a 19.9% stake in Valterra, the mining group has stated its intention to divest this holding over time.
