Online auction house Auctim will offer more than 7.3 million carats (nearly 1,500 kg) of rough emeralds at an upcoming sale in Belgium. The sale will consist of 109 lots, 10% of which contain near-gem to gem-quality stones.
The stones originate from a mine in Brazil. The sale of the collection is part of a court-ordered liquidation.
“This sale stands out due to both the volume and the variety,” Auctim CEO Christophe Moyersoen told Rapaport News. “In addition to commercial-grade parcels, bidders will also discover premium material with strong cutting potential and color appeal.”
The company didn’t provide the price estimate due to “the exceptional volume and diversity of the lots.”
