Kula Gold obtains exploration licence for Malawi niobium project, field work to begin

07 july 2025

Kula Gold has received formal approval for an exploration licence covering the Wozi niobium project in Malawi, paving the way for an imminent field programme.

The ASX-listed company secured the licence following authorisation from Malawi’s Mining and Minerals Regulatory Authority.

Company managing director Ric Dawson described Wozi as a compelling high-impact, low-cost niobium opportunity that strengthens Kula’s portfolio.

“Kula looks forward to quickly advancing the Wozi niobium project towards a maiden drilling programme to see what this exciting new critical minerals project can deliver for shareholders,” he said.

The upcoming fieldwork aims to verify historical trenching results for niobium and tantalum while expanding the sampling area.

Planned activities include detailed geological mapping, along with extensive rock-chip and soil sampling, to define the project’s scale and prospectivity.

Subject to positive findings, Kula intends to progress to an initial drilling programme in the December 2025 quarter.
