ALROSA has put into operation the third kimberlite pipe out of six total at its M.V. Lomonosov diamond deposit in the Arkhangelsk region. The total reserves of the pipe exceed 40 million tons of ore.
The company said in a statement that at present, industrial mining at the diamond project is carried out at two pipes - Arkhangelsk and Karpinsky-1. At the new Karpinsky-2 pipe, the first diamonds were mined during pilot work in November 2018 after the company confirmed its industrial and economic potential.
The M.V. Lomonosov diamond project with total resources of more than 115 million carats is being developed by PJSC Severalmaz, a subsidiary of the ALROSA Group in the Arkhangelsk region. It is reported that in the first 5 months of 2025, the company exceeded the kimberlite ore production plan and reduced the time required for preventive maintenance, thanks to which it ramped up the ore processing volume by 9.4% and produced more than 1.2 million carats of diamonds.
ALROSA CEO Pavel Marinychev was present at the opening of the new kimberlite pipe and visited Severalmaz's production facilities, discussed its performance indicators for 2025 and spoke about promising areas of work with the management and staff.
