A group of professional analysts polled by the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) have raised their forecasts for the average gold price through 2025 by 15.5%.
In January, analyst predictions compiled in LBMA’s Annual Precious Metals Forecast Survey were seeing gold price to average $2,735.33 in 2025 and none had seen an average of above $3,000. However, in the new poll analysts predict the average price of $3,159, and none suggested a whole-year average of under $3,000.
Market watchers have remained divided in Q1 and Q2 due to various geopolitical events and trade tensions.
“That said, the majority of responding analysts suggested that while geopolitics is a key driver of the gold market, the markets are likely to pay more attention, in the near term, to US monetary policy in general, and the US budget deficit and dollar weakness, in particular,” LBMA said in a statement.
Meanwhile, the average outlook for the end-year price of gold was $3,324.40, which is 27.3% above the end-2024 price. Opinions were divided as to the gold price high of the year with $4,000 being the highest and $3,500 being the lowest.
