The head of Interros announced plans to launch a gold recovery unit at the Bystrinsky Mining and Processing Plant (MPP) in two years. The company, along with Norilsk Nickel, is one of the plant's largest shareholders.

"We'll produce gold. We currently produce copper and iron ore there, and now we'll also produce gold," he explained.
The Bystrinsky MPP in the Trans-Baikal Territory currently produces copper, iron ore, and gold concentrates with an annual output of 66,000 - 70,000 tonnes of copper and approximately 250,000 ounces (7.8 tonnes) of gold by-products.
