Brightstar Resources, an Australian company, increased gold production by 91% in September.

22 october 2025
Western Australian gold miner Brightstar Resources nearly doubled its gold production in the new financial year (beginning July 1, 2025). In the first quarter (ended September 30), production increased by 91% compared to the previous quarter.

The company noted that its two underground mines, Second Fortune and Fish, in the Laverton Hub, which it owns, produced a combined total of over 7,000 ounces of gold.

This significant increase was largely due to the successful ramp-up of the Fish mine, which commenced commercial production in June, helping it achieve a record quarterly result in September. These figures, the company noted, will allow Brightstar to meet the upper end of its full-year production guidance of approximately 34,000 ounces.

It's worth noting that mining operations at the Fish mine only commenced mid-quarter, in August. By September, just under 3,000 ounces of gold had been produced at the two underground mines. Nevertheless, thanks to robust mining in September, the company managed to finish the quarter with production of 3,446 ounces of gold at the Second Fortune mine and 3,556 ounces at the Fish mine. Previously, the company's average monthly production had been 2,400-2,800 ounces of gold.

"The company's owner-operator model and recent equipment upgrades are contributing to increased productivity," said Brightstar Managing Director Alex Rovira. "This operational success comes at an opportune time as Brightstar is fully exposed to the record high spot gold price in Australia, exceeding $6,200 per ounce."
