EU imposes restrictions on Polyus as part of the 19th sanctions package

The European Union imposed restrictions on the Russian gold mining company PJSC Polyus as part of the 19th sanctions package against the Russian Federation. 

"Polyus is now almost entirely focused on the Russian market. The company does not sell to EU countries, at least not directly. In our understanding, there will be no direct impact on the company's production and sales as a result of the new EU sanctions package," commented Boris Krasnozhenov, Head of Securities Market Analytics at Alfa-Bank.

The main enterprises of PJSC Polyus are located in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Irkutsk and Magadan regions, as well as in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
Polyus's revenue for the first half of 2025 increased by 35% and amounted to $3.69 billion. Adjusted net profit for the reporting period rose by 20% year-on-year and totaled $1.44 billion.
