The total sales of gold by national central banks amounted to 66 tonnes in March this year, the World Gold Council (WGC) reported.
The leaders in terms of gold sales were Turkey and Russia, which sold 60 tonnes and 6 tonnes of the precious metal, respectively.
The central banks of Poland (11 tonnes), Uzbekistan (9 tonnes), Kazakhstan (6 tonnes), and China (5 tonnes) were the leaders among buyers.
In general, according to the results of the first quarter of this year, Poland (31 tonnes) and Uzbekistan (25 tonnes) acquired the largest volume of gold.
Kazakhstan closes the top three, the country’s central bank bought 13 tonnes of the precious metal in January-March.
