Serval Resources has completed its first geophysical programmes on licences PL082 and PL231 in the Kalahari Copper Belt (KCB) in Botswana, identifying structures and conductive zones that will guide future exploration.
The surveys combined ground-based magnetics, time-domain electromagnetic (TDEM), and audio-magnetotellurics (AMT) across 67.5 line-kilometres and 299 AMT stations.
The work aimed to determine sand cover thickness, identify target horizons, and assess which methods best detect mineralised structures.
On PL082, which is adjacent and on strike to Cobre Limited's Magni project, the interpretation indicates that the underlying KCB geology can be observed through Karoo volcanic sequences. TDEM data identified clear areas of more conductive and more resistive units, possible indications of the target Ngwako Pan and D'Kar formation contact.
These zones will be the focus of future exploration.
On PL231, the surveys identified an interpreted anticlinal structure where the company will focus exploration efforts, along with variation in sand cover depth to bedrock, which will assist in using soil geochemistry as an exploration tool.

“This limited amount of work has provided the Company with valuable information about the exploration methodology required for exploration success in the KCB, and possible targets on these two licence areas.”
