During a working visit to Kyzyl, Russian prime minister Mikhail Mishustin was briefed on strategic mineral extraction projects in the Republic of Tyva.
Mishustin was informed on the implementation of large-scale mining initiatives related to the Tastyg lithium and Ak-Sug porphyry copper deposits.
According to the data presented, lithium oxide reserves at the Tastyg deposit are estimated at approximately 530,000 tonnes, with commercial production scheduled for 2028.
The prime minister was also briefed on plans for the development of the Ak-Sug porphyry copper deposit, considered one of the largest prospective copper projects in Russia. Geologists estimate the deposit's reserves to include approximately 3.1 million tonnes of copper, along with significant amounts of molybdenum, rhenium, and gold.
