Krasnoyarsk catalysts for Volkswagen

14 june 2012

German carmaker Volkswagen will explore the possibility of placing its orders for the production of component parts for cars assembled in Russia with enterprises operating in Krasnoyarsk.

A preliminary cooperation agreement was reached during the visit of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Government to the German company’s motor-works in Kaluga. This summer, Krasnoyarsk will expect a return visit from the automaker’s representatives, who will explore the possibilities of cooperation with local enterprises more thoroughly and define the range of suppliers. In particular, Volkswagen is interested in producing automobile components in Krasnoyarsk.

"During the meeting we were told that the company plans to expand the localization of its operations in Russia. The carmaker is interested in the supply of parts for engines and other components. Now we define the range of businesses, where it is possible to place orders as early as today, as well as those which will be able to meet the requirements after upgrading," said Andrey Wolf, Minister for Investments and Innovation, who headed the Krasnoyarsk delegation.

According to him, Volkswagen may be interested to probe the modern production of automotive catalysts started by OAO Krastsvetmet and successfully operating in the market.
