Two Surat diamond traders to contest GJEPC panel polls

For the first time, two diamond and jewellery businessmen from Surat will contest elections to the diamond panel of Gems and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), The Indian Express reported.
Dinesh Navadia and Praveen Nanavati will seek election to two of the three vacant posts.
Both Navadia and Nanavati are members of GJEPC’s Gujarat Region. Besides, Dinesh is the acting president of Surat Diamond Association while Praveen had held the post earlier.
“There are eight members in the diamond panel of GJEPC, which deals with issues related to the industry. The voting will talk place online between September 1 and September 20,” Navadia told The Indian Express.
Nanavati said, “We feel proud to represent Surat... If we get elected, we would represent issues related to the industry to the concerned ministry in a better way.”
