Buxbaum to Auction Diamonds, Jewelry in October

08 october 2012

Buxbaum Jewelry Advisors will accept sealed bids on millions of dollars worth of jewelry for its first fall auction in the middle of October, with previews scheduled for New York and Los Angeles beforehand. The upcoming sale will include multiple lots of loose diamonds, designer silver and finished diamond jewelry, melee, colored-gemstone jewelry and more, Rapaport reports.
“The auction represents an excellent source of value for opportunistic buyers on both coasts,” said Michael Lebowitz, the executive vice president of Buxbaum Jewelry Advisors. “The selection runs the gamut, from lower-end, ‘everyday’ items all the way to higher-end, finished pieces created by a well-known designer.”
The group with auction inventory it has secured from manufacturers, wholesalers, distributors and retailers in the U.S. Diamond lots include melee  as well as a larger diamond lots consisting of 70-pointers,  1-carat, round diamonds, Lebowitz said. The selection of finished jewelry includes an array of  pieces with diamonds and colored gemstones. More goods are being consigned, according to Lebowitz.
Buxbaum Jewelry Advisors will hold its preview in Los Angeles from October 8 to12; and in  New York from October 15 to 19. Bids must be submitted by 6 p.m. October 19.
