Mumbai to host 35th Edition of World Diamond Congress

The 35th World Diamond Congress commences on Sunday, 14 October, in Mumbai, India and will conclude on 17 October. This will be followed by specialist excursions to key diamond-based industries such as a Surat factory visit.
High-ranking industry and governmental speakers will also be addressing attendees including the South African Minister of Minerals and Mines, Mrs Susan Shabangu, who will serve as a keynote speaker.
Within the scope of the upcoming World Diamond Congress WFDB will unveil to members of the diamond community its strategy and implementation of a new development - the World Diamond Mark, Rough&Polished were reported at the organization. This development will bring with it major changes in how the WFDB interfaces with retail outlets across the world. This new financial model and marketing development puts diamond marketing in the hands of the WFDB which has developed this product as an all-inclusive diamond strategy to ensure that diamonds secure its space in the luxury goods market.
The Mumbai Congress brings together key players in the diamond industry from the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) and the International Diamond Manufacturing Association (IDMA). Meetings will be attended by ministerial heads from different countries associated with the diamond industry to create a platform for key players to interact and plan the road ahead.
