Christie's Diamond Auction Hits London in December

Leading auction house Christie's will hold a major public sale of polished diamonds and precious gems in the United Kingdom within weeks, Diamond World reports cited by Israelidiamond.co.il. Christie's Important Jewels auction of will take place in London on December 12 and feature pieces of jewelry going back three hundred and fifty years.
Two of the oldest pieces of jewelry that will go up for sale are a diamond and pearl necklace and a diamond tiara which once belonged to a mistress of the British King George IV and dates back to the middle of the 19th century.
The auction's 383 lots also include pieces by design houses Bulgari, Boucheron, Van Cleef & Arpels and Cartier all have pieces of jewelry up on Christie's auction block, according to Diamond World. Some of these stand-out pieces include a diamond and emerald ring and a diamond and emerald tiara, both produced by Cartier. The tiara is decorated with diamond palm motifs and includes a chain which allows it to be worn as a necklace, as well.
