Lucapa Diamond Company has processed an additional 410 cubic metres of gravel and recovered an additional 32 diamonds weighing 25.35 carats at its Lulo concession in Angola.
The diamond hopeful said in a statement that a total of 1,145 cubic metres of sample processed from BLK_18 had produced 75 diamonds weighing 55.05 carats as of January 10 this year.
The diamonds recovered recently included individual stones weighing 5.30, 4.35 and 2.0 carats, it said.
The BLK_18 bulk sample was located within the northern part of the Se251 kimberlite, and processing of the sample would continue throughout January, it said.
Lucapa was continuing to excavate gravels from the BLK_19 site where a D colour, 32.2 carat, Type 2A diamond was recovered from a bulk sample 1,600 metres south east of the priority Se251 kimberlite pipe.
However, monsoonal rains were hampering processing and other exploration activities.
