Lucapa Diamond said the Lulo project joint venture has approved the sale of a second parcel of diamonds recovered from the diamond concession in Angola.
It noted in a statement that the sale would comprise a parcel weighing 371.35 carats, independently valued by Jaguar Consultants at $3.164 million.
This, it said, equates to an average price of $8,521 per carat, highlighting the premium value of the diamonds Lucapa was recovering from Lulo.
The parcel of diamonds independently valued by Jaguar included the 95.45 carat and 32.2 carat Type 2A diamonds recovered in January, and a 4.4 carat pink diamond valued at $10,250 per carat.
The sale would be conducted via a tender process conducted by the Angolan government’s diamond sale agency SODIAM.
