Almazy Anabara mining company is going to resume extraction of alluvial diamonds at the field formerly operated by ALROSA. This deposit is located in Anabar District near Ebelyakh River, according to a statement by director of the Mayat mine Nikolay Ignatiev, cited by YSIA.
According to preliminary calculations, reserves at the new area of the deposit are sufficient for development till 2030.
Exploration works and construction of a new settlement are already underway at this area.
Nikolay Ignatiev believes that expansion of mining activities will not be limited to this project and Almazy Anabara can further embark on development of Tomtor field.
Within the next few years the enterprise expects to shut down its activities at alluvial plot on Mayat river which has been developed since 1998.
