ALROSA’s Proven Diamond Reserves will be Sufficient for at least 20 years - Head of State Geologic Committee of Yakutia

Proven diamond reserves of ALROSA will be enough for development within at least 20 years. The company has powerful and competent geological division able to secure constant resource updates, Head of the republican State Geologic Committee Leonid Kovalev stated on March 18, speaking during government’s hour at the parliament of Yakutia, Ysia.ru reported.
According to the data provided by State Geologic Committee of Yakutia, there are 58 diamond fields found on the territory of Yakutia, including 16 indigenous deposits of diamonds and 42 - placer deposits. 96% of the above deposits are currently subject to development.
Geologic exploration works were launched to locate diamond deposits in Central Yakutia. ALROSA Group conducted prospecting works for new kimberlite fields and deposits in Western-Yakutian diamond province.
Testing works are in progress at Verkhne-Munskoye deposit; following prospecting works within Nakyn kimberlite field numerous priority areas were determined with potential reserves totaling 50 million carats.
In addition, prospecting works are pending for identifying non-usual for Russia diamond deposits in the northern part of Olenek uplift and within Barylay area in Central Yakutia.
