The First Dubai Global Gem and Jewellery Fair (GGJF), held last week at Atlantis, The Palm, boasted of a stunning display of rare and exclusive jewellery, precious gemstones and diamonds from the GCC and India. Around 600 sel ect buyers from across the globe have reportedly converged to this exclusive ‘Invitation Only’ Event.
Speaking about the Fair, Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman, DMCC, said," The inaugural Dubai GGJF provides the ideal environment for international buyers to trade in top-quality precious gemstones, diamonds and couture jewellery. We are honoured to host this world-class event in collaboration with the GJEPC. In a similar vein, Mr. Vipul Shah, Chairman, GJEPC praised the GCC and said, “The UAE is one of the top 13 gold consuming countries and accounts for 40% of India’s gem and jewellery exports. The Fair leverages Dubai’s recognised status as the luxury retail and financial capital of the region and showcases the finest in gemstones, diamonds and jewellery from the crème de la crème fr om India and UAE.”
Hosted by DMCC (Dubai Multi Commodities Centre - Dubai’s and the region’s global gateway for commodity trade and enterprise), and GJEPC (Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council, India), the Fair has 130 exhibitors participating; and over 170 booths spread over 3,100 sq m. The Fair concluded on 22nd March 2014.
