Sunrise Resources plc has discovered a second new kimberlite at the Cue Diamond Project in Western Australia, Diamondintelligence.com reports.
According to the diversified mineral exploration and development company, 250 kilograms of the one-tonne kimberlite previously sample collected from the Soapy Bore kimberlite at Cue is now in Canada for diamond extraction, with first results expected in approximately four weeks' time.
The company says that it has additionally completed further geochemical analysis and mineralogical work at the site on various high-interest drill samples, which has revealed new kimberlite. The discovery is located 300 meters north west of the Soapy Bore kimberlite, says the firm, adding that while its relationship to the Soapy Bore kimberlite is not clear it is thought to be a separate body.
The drill sample of this kimberlite is now being sent to Canada for microdiamond extraction.
