One of the highlights of the 11th Jovella jewelry show in Israel, which is taking place July 1-2, is a 6.52 carat natural fancy intense pink diamond that has been valued at $15,386,000, Israelidiamond.co.il reported. The diamond, which is internally flawless and of excellent cut, is the most expensive diamond ever to be exhibited in Israel. The diamond is being exhibited by IGL Israel, and is on loan from the certification company’s branch in London. The diamond, which belongs to a Jewish diamond merchant, is not for sale.
“There are lots of new faces at this year’s show, and more diamond dealers visiting,” says Israel Or, Managing Director of IGL Israel, which accounts for 80% of jewelry certificates issued in Israel.
“Despite negative forecasts for the industry, there is a positive feeling at the show,” notes Or, adding that IGL, which also has offices in St Petersburg, Turkey, Belgium and will shortly be opening in Los Angeles, is dedicated to fulfilling its clients’ needs and focused on providing technological solutions to further business activities.
Edi Faltz, CEO and Owner of Edi Faltz Diamonds & Jewelry, is a regular exhibitor at Jovella and sees the show becoming more international. His company is exhibiting a wide variety of goods, from watches to tennis bracelets, and complicated jewelry pieces that require technology to manufacture them. Faltz introduced his Diamond 360 degree website application which allows overseas clients, including clients from Dubai and Lebanon, to see diamonds online in their full glory.
A visiting contingency of Russian businessmen, from places such as Moscow, St Petersburg and Kiev, showed interest in locally produced jewelry and diamond products, and one of their local guides noted that they displayed a great level of interest in white gold jewelry set with diamonds. Other foreign groups visiting Jovella, which numbers over 100 exhibitors this year, come from the United Kingdom, the United States, South Africa, France and Germany.
