The Supervisory Board of ALROSA on August 29 will hold absentee voting to elect the chairman, the company said in a statement. In addition the First Deputy and Deputy Chairmen of the Supervisory Board to be elected on that date, Finmarket.ru reports.
State representatives will vote in favor of Ilya Yuzhanov, who has served as Chairman of the Supervisory Board since mid-2011, after the resignation of former Finance Minister Alexey Kudrin. The relevant directive was recently signed by Vice-Prime Minister, presidential envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev. Representatives of the second largest shareholder of ALROSA – Republic Yakutia – will traditionally vote on this issue jointly with the representatives of the Russian Federation.
The Supervisory Board of ALROSA currently consists of 8 representatives of the Russian Federation (including the company’s President of Fyodor Andreev and two independent directors nominated by the Russian Federation), 6 representatives of Yakutia (three of them being listed as independent) and vice-president of ALROSA Ivan Demyanov.
