Signet Jewelers’ Q3 sales soared 50%
Total sales were up 52.7%, or $1,177.9 million, Internet sales were up 96.5%, or $45 million. The increase was primarily driven by the addition of the Zale division in May this year.
Mark Light, Chief Executive Officer, commented: "We delivered a solid third quarter highlighted by continued strength in same store sales, which rose 4.2%. We believe our US and Canada divisions are well-prepared to deliver for the holiday season.”
Mr. Light continued: "While Zale same store sales declined 0.9%, we remain pleased with the Zale division integration progress. In the short time period since owning Zale, we have been able to implement select initiatives to further the Zale holiday business. We remain confident in our ability to meet our goal of $150 million to $175 million in cumulative 3-year synergies.”
The two main Signet brands on American market, Kay and Jared, rose 7.5% and 6.5% respectively. Positive momentum in company’s UK division continued at 3.7%, which is the best operating result in seven years.
