Company managing director Balisi Bonyongo was quoted by a local news agency, Bopa as saying that the diamond producer’s revenue had leaped 26 per cent by the end of September 2014.
Debswana produced 18.3 million carats in the first nine months of the year earning BWP26.7 billion ($2.9 billion) in revenues, according to Mmegi.
The company earned BWP21.2 billion ($2.3 billion) a year earlier.
Meanwhile, Bonyogo said Debswana should maintain its position as the leading diamond company by value in the world.
"Debswana still remains competitive with assets to meet scales and there is no other mine of larger scale in Botswana involved in the production at the same scale as us and hence it would take that mine 10 years to be where we are," he said.
