Economic growth in the Murmansk region amounted to 16%, investments – by 30% (600 billion rubles). Industrial production in the region increased by 17.3%, said the Governor of the Murmansk region Andrey Chibis at a meeting of the governors' club to support and implement ideas within the framework of the forum "Strong ideas for a new time – 2022" in Moscow.
According to the head of the region, today the Kola Arctic is the leader in the number of participants in the "Hectare of the Arctic" program. The number of proposed territories in the Murmansk region for business development is 700,000 hectares.
On the territory of the Murmansk region there is a program "Governor's startup", which is very popular among entrepreneurs. In total, 174 ideas were announced from the regional authorities in 2022. The top 200 and top 1000 included 6 offers, hibiny.com writes.
One of them is the "Workshop of Arctic Hospitality", the essence of which is to attract everyone who wants to find their place in the field of tourism.
In addition, Chibis outlined projects that will set a new dynamic for the development of the region under economic pressure. Among them is the gasification of the region. The implementation of the project will reduce payments for the population by up to 30%, eliminate the use of fuels that have an adverse impact on the environment: coal and fuel oil, ensure the creation of more than 20 thousand additional jobs for qualified specialists, as well as attract up to 400 billion rubles of investments in fixed assets.
The governor called lithium mining the second direction. The largest Kolmozersky deposit is located in the region, and more than 50% of the reserves are concentrated in the Murmansk region.
Also, the construction of the Lavna port will set a new dynamic. The Governor stressed that the Murmansk port has a competitive advantage – direct access to the world ocean without passing international straits and restrictions on the size of ships that enter the port.
