Volunteers from Norilsk Nickel came to the aid of the Lapland Nature Reserve

The volunteers of the second eco-shift of the Norilsk Nickel’s “Poneslos” (Things Got Rolling) eco-marathon helped the employees of the Lapland Nature Reserve once again. Last year, the eco-marathon participants built the so-called “Reindeer Trail” and an interactive platform. This season, the volunteers are now busy repairing excursion trails, painting poles and improving the road leading to the Reserve. The experts were invited to deliver several lectures and give some lessons to them. Sergey Ridzik, Honoured Master of Sports of Russia, was among the special guests at the eco-campaign. “It is very good that the environmental work that our volunteers have been doing for several years at the Lapland Nature Reserve resonates well with the Norilsk Nickel employees and also with the residents of the cities where the company operates and they want to make their contribution. Every year, the contribution becomes increasingly important,” said Maxim Ivanov, Deputy General Director of the Kola Mining and Metallurgical Company.
