Most of the projects under the Arctic benefits system related to tourism and services

22 august 2022
Within the framework of preferential regimes created in the Arctic, 500 residents are already working, most of them represent small businesses. The leaders in terms of the number of projects being implemented are enterprises of the tourist complex and the service sector. Such data was announced by Deputy Prime Minister - Presidential Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev.
This is essential in the light of the development of the Russian Arctic. Small and medium-sized enterprises perform an important function in terms of economic development of remote territories, integration of northern spaces. They form distributed growth points, create stable horizontal economic ties at the basic level. This objectively consolidates the foundation of the economy of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation, increases its ability to adapt – and to create profit.
Another key mission of small business is social. It has a particularly relevant sound in the Arctic. According to the deputy head of government, for the development of the macroregion, it is necessary to raise the standard of living of people, otherwise "no investment projects, no scientific research will be fully implemented." Yuri Trutnev is convinced that the shift method used by many in the Arctic is not the method that can work for a long time in the economy.
The Russian Arctic should be the territory of permanent residence of people, goarctic.ru noted.
