The IV Northern Forum dedicated to the development of energy in the Arctic

The Fourth Northern Forum on Sustainable Development will be held on September 27-30 in Yakutsk, the main topic of which will be devoted to the development of new proposals for the development of energy supply in the Arctic, ysia.ru reports.
"The issues of energy supply to settlements are the most important for ensuring the sustainable development of the territories of the Arctic zone. At the same time, special importance will be attached to environmentally friendly energy, the widespread use of renewable sources, a sparing regime of mining, a responsible approach of companies to both the preservation and restoration of natural ecosystems, support for traditional nature management, and careful attitude to cultural heritage, traditions of indigenous peoples," said Vladimir Vasiliev, director of the Northern Forum.
Representatives of more than 12 foreign countries are expected to participate in the forum: Iran, Belarus, Turkey, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Finland, Iceland, the USA, the Republic of Korea, India, Japan and others.
The forum's events will be divided into five thematic blocks: "Arctic Energy: New Challenges – New Solutions and Technologies", "Man in the Arctic", "Global Partnership for Sustainable Development of the North and the Arctic", "Northern Forum: the Voice of Regions on the International Agenda" and "Youth Northern Forum".
