Norilsk Nickel to create its own export fleet

06 october 2022
Norilsk Nickel, the world's largest producer of palladium and high-grade nickel, is considering the possibility of forming its own fleet in order to guarantee the export of products. This, according to TASS, was stated by Ravil Nasybullov, director of the logistics department of the company during the All-Russian Maritime Congress.
"I do not rule out that almost all of our products will be reoriented to Asian markets one way or another. Accordingly, we will have to increase our transportation capacity. <...> As a company, we are seriously thinking about forming our own export fleet, which would allow us to guarantee the export of products. Potentially, this fleet can also be used, since it is a universal container fleet, [for importing] imported products from Asian markets," Nasybullov said.
He clarified that previously the company had no problems with attracting vessels from the European region.
Norilsk Nickel is a diversified mining and metallurgical company. The production units of the Norilsk Nickel Group of companies are located in Russia in the Norilsk Industrial District, on the Kola Peninsula and in the Trans-Baikal Territory, as well as in Finland.
