Vladimir Putin instructed to study the problems of volunteers when cleaning the Arctic

09 november 2022
Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed until December 1 to study the problems encountered by volunteers during the collection and disposal of waste in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation, to amend legislation if necessary and to submit proposals for financing their work.
In September, during a meeting with participants of the All-Russian Youth Ecological Forum "Ecosystem. Reserved land" Putin promised to work out and finalize the legal and regulatory framework to continue cleaning the Arctic, noting that this will be done in the near future.
"The Government of the Russian Federation together with the executive authorities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, whose territories are included in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation, and with the involvement of the autonomous non-profit organization Clean Arctic, analyze the problems that have arisen when volunteers carry out activities for the collection, accumulation, transportation and disposal of waste... including in water protection zones, and, if necessary, submit proposals on amendments to legislation to solve these problems," reads the list of instructions given by RIA Novosti.
It was also instructed to submit proposals for the implementation by volunteers of the autonomous non-profit organization "Clean Arctic" of activities aimed at environmental protection in the territories included in the Arctic zone of Russia, as well as to ensure financing of this activity.
