The Arctic-M satellite constellation to be fully deployed by 2029
At the end of last year Roscosmos announced that the grouping of satellites of the new complex would be increased from two devices to four. The first satellite "Arctic-M" was launched on February 28, 2021, the launch of the second is scheduled for 2023.
The development of a new generation of Arctic-MP satellites will begin in 2026, they will be unified with the Electro-M satellite, the platform and equipment of spacecraft are being created on the domestic element base.
The Arctic hydrometeorological and Climate monitoring space system is designed for round-the-clock all-weather monitoring of the Earth's surface and the seas of the Arctic Ocean, as well as for communication.
The grouping of four Arctic vehicles will continuously monitor the Arctic region and the Northern Sea Route from two angles.
Earlier it was reported that new satellites for the Arctic will begin to be designed in 2026.
