A new federal project called "Year-round Northern Sea Route" will replace the current federal project "Development of the Northern Sea Route", the targets of which should be achieved in 2024.
According to the draft document, by 2030 the cargo flow through the NSR should increase to 150 million tons per year, the capacity of ports will be increased, and year-round navigation on the NSR will be provided by at least 13 icebreakers.
In addition, Rosatom continues to work on the issue of energy supply to the Arctic. The state corporation handed over its proposals for the supply of electricity from floating nuclear power plants to Gazprom, which is interested in developing its polar assets.
Companies should now discuss common ground in the energy sector, goarctic.ru reports.
