Norilsk Nickel specialists conducts monitoring of one of the largest bridges beyond the 69th parallel

17 may 2023
Norilsk Nickel specialists monitored the bridge over the Norilsk River, one of the largest bridges beyond the 69th parallel, ttelegraf.ru reports.
To ensure the production plan of the company, hundreds of tons of cargo are transported on the bridge around the clock and smoothly – both by road and by rail.
To ensure the reliability of the operation of the crossing, the specialists of the diagnostics center of the Polar branch of Norilsk Nickel conduct special studies: they record the amplitude of the movement of the metal structures of the bridge at a distance, assessing the vibration level.
"We continue to introduce innovative technologies into the production activities of the diagnostic center, which allow monitoring the condition of assets without physical contact and stopping the technological process," said Andrey Akulinkin, Director of the Department of Efficiency and Reliability of industrial Assets of the Polar Branch of Norilsk Nickel.
The monitoring results are used to assess the actual operation of the bridge span structures. Similar technical diagnostics are carried out at other enterprises of the Norilsk division.
"The management of Norilsk Nickel pays special attention to the development of instrumental diagnostics of the company's industrial assets as one of the main directions of the transition to proactive reliability management," Maxim Kotelnikov, Deputy Director of the Polar Branch of Norilsk Nickel for Industrial Asset Management, summed up.
