Thirteen employees of the Polar branch of Norilsk Nickel and Norilskgazprom were awarded for bravery and dedication shown during the liquidation of the consequences of emergency circumstances, high performance in service, success in fire prevention, sgnorilsk.ru reported.
"The authorities of the Russian Federation pay significant influence to the development of the Arctic regions of the country. This is noticeable both in Taimyr and in the Norilsk Industrial Zone. Norilsk Nickel makes a significant contribution to the process," said Colonel of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Roman Vetchinnikov, who presented awards to the company's employees.
According to him, Norilsk Nickel is carrying out large-scale work to ensure safety at industrial facilities: not only programs are being implemented to clean up territories and restore the ecology of Taimyr, but also projects for the development of fire and rescue units.
Thanks to the company, an updated modern fire station operates. Emergency response exercises in the Arctic have become a tradition, Vetchinnikov said.
