Norilsk Nickel presents five more apartments to orphans from among the indigenous peoples of Taimyr

As part of the program to promote the socio-economic development of Taimyr, representatives of the Norilsk Nickel company handed over the keys to five apartments to orphans from among the indigenous peoples of the North, ttelegraf.ru reports.
The program has been implemented since 2020 and is designed for five years.
"We are continuing the good tradition of supporting the youth of the indigenous peoples of the North. Today we have another handing over the keys to representatives of the indigenous ethnic group. An independent road opens up in front of you and I believe that the company gives you a good start by providing housing. Our support program has been running for the third year, and during this time 15 people have become the happy owners of renovated modern apartments," Nikolai Utkin, Senior Vice President, head of Norilsk Division of Norilsk Nickel, said in his welcoming speech.
The company pays great attention to the support and development of indigenous ethnic groups. At the meetings the management of Norilsk Nickel and representatives of the indigenous peoples of the North  discuss and solve the main issues for the successful development of the territory and the life of the population.
Within the framework of numerous programs developed by Norilsk Nickel houses are being built in the villages of Taimyr, rural houses of culture are being built, schools are provided with access to stable Internet, students' education is subsidized.
The company also carries out serious work to preserve the heritage of indigenous peoples: folklore festivals, master classes in choreography and decorative and applied arts are held, books on the history and culture of peoples are published, traditional economic activities are developed.
