The first line of the Arctic LNG 2 natural gas liquefaction plant has been delivered to the installation site at the Gydan Peninsula, where the resource base for the plant is located, Interfax reports.
According to Dmitry Kadulin, deputy director of the LNG plant for the operation of Arctic LNG 2, after the platform is installed in the design position, the connection of technological pipelines to the onshore facilities of the plant will begin. Concurrently, auxiliary production units will be launched on the technological line itself.
"We are ready to receive the first liquefied gas before the end of the year," he said.
As reported, on July 20, the first line of the Arctic LNG 2 plant left Murmansk, where it was assembled at the Center for the Construction of Large-capacity offshore structures of NOVATEK-Murmansk LLC in the village of Belokamenka on the western shore of the Kola Bay. The shipping ceremony was held with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The technological lines of the plant are installed on gravity-type bases, inside which there are tanks for storing finished products. Three Boeing-737 aircraft can be freely placed in each of them.
